PROVERBS 27:19

The second “C” is CONVICTION.

The world needs people who have convictions. People others can look up to with conviction, hope and inspiration. People with immovable beliefs who change societies, who are willing and ready to suffer, to wait and to persevere. We don’t necessarily have to agree or respect what they are doing to admire their personal convictions that produce change. People with great convictions and passion can make you feel small and ashamed. Personal conviction is something everyone needs to have and develop.

“We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and father your work produced by faith, your labour prompted by love and your endurance inspired by hope…..because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep CONVICTION…(1 Thessalonians 1:2-5)

Deep conviction does not fluctuate based on emotions, circumstances, opinions, the political party in power or what is happening around you or in your life. Conviction is a motivation that cannot be taken away. If you must be successful in whatever chosen field, you must have deep convictions. Conviction is shown in how we live. Many people do not even understand themselves in life. Marriages and relationships burn because people have no convictions. Many people have wrong convictions about many theories, philosophies and ideas, carried along by life. Such people don’t stand for anything, and they don’t believe in anything. If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything. They are double minded…James 1:6-8

People without convictions have a hard time making decisions. They end up playing second fiddle to others. They are often unstable in business, in relationships, in their calling or ministry. They lack anchors that guide their decisions. People with convictions set boundaries. Usually, it involves what is not popular. Some things are morally right, but spiritually and Biblically wrong. It is your convictions that will prompt you, and set you apart.

If your character must be appropriate, you can’t separate your convictions from it.

To be cont…

Stay blessed always and remember to love someone and mean it.
