The Church must position itself to be both influential and relevant in an ever increasing world of knowledge and information, particularly in the advent of immense technology on the back of new media.

Senior Pastor of Liberty House Christian Centre in Tema Community 25, Reverend Prophet Luke Luki Barson explains that it is imperative for the church which is tasked with the mandate of bringing salvation and the Holy Word of God to the masses to remain culturally relevant and powerfully influential.

He is of the strong conviction that the church loses its potency and defining role when it becomes bereft of influence, explaining that the mandate of the church should and must remain sacrosanct.

The revered Man of God who has earned the accolade ‘Dr. Precision 1’ from his following and his colleague Men of God because of the accuracy of his prophecies wrote ‘’influence is a powerful word. When a man or an organisation loses its influence, it seizes to be relevant’’.

Quoting the scripture to buttress his point, Reverend Luke Barson who is also the Executive Director of not-for-profit organization Liberty House Foundation said ‘’everybody influences, or is being influenced by others. Jesus stressed the significance of godly influence in Matthew 5:13 when he compared his disciples to the salt of the world, and Paul warned of bad influence when he noted that, evil communications corrupt good manners, 1 Corinthians 15:33’’.

Reverend Luke Barson who has launched the #sociallysignificant campaign on social media concluded by stating that ‘’in an ever increasing world of knowledge and information, the church must position its self to be both relevant and influential. #sociallysignificant #Lukebarson’’
