Flagbearer aspirant of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Joshua Alabi has indicated that all the seven aspirants contesting the party’s presidential candidate slot are riding on the strength of the party and that no one can claim to be more popularly than the other.
“Sometimes when I hear people say this candidate is popular, this candidate is marketable or this candidate has all the money, I tend to disagree because we are all riding on the strength of the party. This is because if you’re elected as the flagbearer today, you will become popular just overnight.
Professor Alabi who was speaking on Accra based Asempa Fm said all the aspirants do not dip their hands into their pockets to ran their campaign, explaining that there are usually party sponsors and financiers who are always willing to support the party once a flagbearer emerges.
“If you’re elected Flagbearer today, you become popular overnight and the financiers and sponsors will start calling you that they want to support. So I don’t like it when they say this person has the money and so he should go” he added.
