Director of Communications at Ghana Gas Company, Ernest Owusu Bempah has described opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer hopeful, former president John Dramani Mahama as a politically finished man who should find something better doing with his life than to waste his time seeking another shot at the presidency.

According to him, the former president is the first person to lose a presidential election by as much as 1 million votes in the history of the country, saying it is unprecedented in Ghana.

According to the vociferous Media practitioner, he is not enthused at all that the former president is seeking to lead the biggest opposition party again after his abysmal and very poor showing in the last general elections.

‘’It is unprecedented in the history of NDC politics, no presidential candidate has ever gone into an election and lost by over 1 million votes. It has never happened. And his own party people, Alban Bagbin who vigorously campaigned for him in Bole Bamboi has said he is incompetent. The likes of Goosie Tanoh and co have also taken a dig at him. So he should respond to them and stop targeting president Akufo-Addo who is busy fixing the mess that he (John Mahama) created.’’ He said.

Mr. Owusu Bempah also described the former president as someone who doesn’t believe in       internal democracy, hence his disregard for his fellow contenders in the race.

According to him, the former president thinks he is running a solo race and is fixated at addressing national issues instead of seeking the mandate of delegates to vote for him as the party’s flagbearer.

‘’He is putting the cat before the horse and acting like the other contenders in the race don’t matter, Goosie Tanoh don’t matter, Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin don’t matter, Joshua Alabi don’t matter and so automatically the signal he is sending is that he has won the primaries in advance. In his utterances he doesn’t even talk to the delegates. He is rather addressing national matters and that is nor right’’ he added.
