Liberty Breakfast with Luke Barson (Rev) Don’t Ever Lose Your Passion

MARK 12:30

“LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH…”

The creative force behind all great things is passion. Nothing great has ever been achieved in life without passion, and nothing great is ever sustained without passion.

Once a person loses his or her passion in life, the energy for success is gone. Passion is what energises life. Everyone can give up on their dreams because of naysayers, but those with passion can make the impossible possible. What separates success from failure is passion. The determination, zeal, strong desire that gets one to do amazing things. The conviction, love, thirst and hunger to achieve results.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, working for the Lord, not for human masters”.(Colossians 3:23)

On our way recently from “Atwea mountains”(A prayer retreat centre in the Ashanti region), we picked a pregnant woman by the road side to a near by government clinic. It was a Saturday morning, on arrival, three nurses were on duty, a male nurse and two female nurses.(Name of clinic and staff withheld ).Their attitude didn’t look like they were staffs; very casual, lackadaisical and very rude. The husband of the lady told us his wife had been in labour for four days. In our attempt to draw their attention, we were insulted and told we could take her to the next town. We didn’t trust them so we put her back into the car and managed to drive her to a private clinic in Kumasi. Even before we took her out of the car, the staff came to assist us. We paid the necessary bills, took the doctor’s contact and left. Fortunately, she gave birth, but not without serious complications.

The attitude of the first set of nurses is not different from many government establishments. Walk to any government institution, and it will appear you are rather coming to render the service. The reason is simple; lack of passion. How sad it is, when one walks to a shop or office and the office or shop attendant is chatting with a colleague on whatsapp, Instagram or facebook, whilst you are waiting. The urgency to serve customers is simply not there, because there’s no passion.

Helen Keller once said, “life is either a daring adventure or it’s nothing”. “Enthusiasm and persistence can make an average person superior; indifference and lethargy can make a superior person average”. (William Ford)

God wants His children to be fervent in the spirit. Romans 12:11

You cannot achieve any assignment, unless you first develop the love for it. You have a purpose, but your passion must drive it.

(To be cont)

Stay blessed always and remember to love someone and mean it.
