2 CORINTHIANS 8:21

“FOR WE ARE TAKING PAINS TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT, NOT ONLY IN THE EYES OF THE LORD, BUT ALSO IN THE EYES OF MAN”.

One day a man was asked to build a house. It was a Three Storey Complex. The works supervisor ( foreman) had been working with the contractor for more than forty five years and was about to retire. He thought to himself, “this is the best opportunity for me to get some money to retire”. By that, he used inferior materials, and kept huge sums of money to himself. When the building was completed, the contractor handed the three storey complex to the works supervisor as a retirement package for his long and dedicated service to the construction firm. Dear reader, judge for yourselves.

To be honest is to be truthful, sincere or upright. Honesty also has to do with moral correctness or fairness. People can make “honest mistakes” in life. The person intended no harm, yet made an error. We live in a generation where “people pontificate lies and demonize honesty”. Our leaders are not honest, parents and teachers are not honest, our preachers, who are supposed to uphold moral fairness and correctness through the word of God are not honest. Few things delight parents more than seeing that their children are learning the importance of honesty, and so it is with our heavenly Father “the God of truth”.

“Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeem me, O Lord of truth”. ( Psalm 31:5 KJV)

As we grow to spiritual maturity, God is pleased to see us striving to be HONEST. Believers need to conduct themselves honestly in all things.

“We wish to conduct ourselves honestly in all things” Hebrews 13:18

We need to be honest with ourselves, honest with our families, honest with the brethren in the church, and honest with people we work with. .

“No nation develops on the wings of lies and dishonesty”. It’s better to be slow in truth, than to be fast with lies.

To be cont..

Stay blessed always and remember to love someone and mean it.
