Liberty Breakfast: By Luke Barson (Rev)-Commitment: Pt. 2 (What is your real commitment?)

LUKE 9:62

I have had the opportunity to work in both the private and public sectors of the economy. I am privileged now, to be in ministry by the special grace of God. I have seen different levels of commitments in all these areas.

“What’s your real commitment to the things of God? For many people, their commitment changes depending on the circumstances. If the environment is good, their level of commitment is high, but if not, the level of commitment is low. Your commitment as a child of God to the things of God should not depend on how good your church is, or how well you are treated by the congregation. When you are committed to God, he is committed to you.

“He remembers his covenant forever, the promise ( Commitment) he made for a thousand generation”. ( 1 Chronicles 16:15)

These days, it’s hard enough for the Lord to find people who will live for Him. Living for the Lord has nothing to do with your regular attendance to church and getting busy with all ministries and departments of the church, and yet Christ is not seen in you. WE ARE NOT JUST TO LIVE FOR THE LORD, BUT WE MUST LET THE LORD LIVE THROUGH US.

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith”…( Galatians 2:20)

Dear reader, be determined to walk in the Holy Spirit. “Your success in life will be determined by who you are committed to”. This appears very simple but has very wide ramifications if only you will stop for a moment and ponder over it. If you don’t have a clue, or accurate information about the people you are committed to, you can get off track in life. This is true about everything; from the simplest assignments to the most complex ones. If you continue to walk and talk with pessimists, negative people and people who act like dumbs, you will not act differently. It is said that; “everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid”. You must pay attention to who you are committed to, and who constantly speaks into your life. There’s only one who gives absolutely accurate information and direction to life; you must get committed to Him,( God ).

“I say then, walk in the spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh”. ( Galatians 5:16)

If you commit yourself to stay tuned to the Holy Spirit, your doubts will become less and your faith will become stronger. You will be focused and committed to Him, that the flesh will not even tempt you.

To be cont..

Stay blessed always and remember to love someone and mean it.
