EPHESIANS 5:20

It has been scientifically proven that, grateful people are generally healthier than ungrateful people.

Honestly speaking, grateful people have less physical pain, fewer physical symptoms and have better quality sleep.

Grateful people do not worry, grumble or murmur; they have less time to judge others, gossip or envy. They are generally content and grateful to God.They anticipate for more and better days at “God’s own time”. One thing you must understand is that; “Gratitude can transform common and ordinary days into thanksgiving, turn routine jobs into joy, and turn ordinary opportunities into blessings”. I have observed that, gratitude also increases one’s confidence. When you keep a grateful heart, it makes you mentally strong and emotionally stable. When you have a heart of gratitude, you don’t waste your time and energy feeling sorry for yourself, because gratitude allows you to see your life and the people around you in a positive light. I have seen grateful people cultivate assertiveness. People see those who are assertive as arrogant, proud and self conceited. In Ghana, people like you when you are timid and reserved; then they conclude that, you are humble. To be assertive is to be able to stand for your right and the rights of others in a calm and positive disposition, without being aggressive, disrespectful, insulting or passively accepting wrong. That’s exactly what gratitude does. Being able to recognise your own value, and standing up for yourself and refusing to accept substandard treatment or mediocrity.

Gratitude helps develop an attitude of FAIRNESS and KINDNESS and strengthens your mental strength and toughness. Gratitude helps you forgive and move on. Your ability to move from your past to a better, prosperous and positive future depends largely on how grateful you are to the people who have hurt you in the past, forgive them and move on. Every hurt is a lesson on your ladder of success. But you can’t climb that ladder if your past is still a weight on you pulling you down anytime you make an attempt to climb further. Show gratitude, it will turn those anxious moments into peace which surpasses all understanding. ( Philippians 4:6-7)

When I was anxious about some challenges; ( I picked someone from nowhere, took him in and employed him, then he turned against me, blackmailed me, stabbed me in the back and discredited me to my benefactors; about mansions, and estates I have no idea about; I don’t even have a plot of land, though I believe God will bless me and make me prosperous; very painful isn’t it? I lost everything….) I discovered that, complaining, being bitter and arguing with God and my accusers didn’t change my circumstances; it rather added more pain to my already painful situation. In my desperation, I started thanking God, and showing gratitude for the mess those I genuinely loved and brought to help me run my organisation had caused me. It was only then, that I received God’s incomprehensible PEACE.

The situation didn’t change for quite a while, but God’s peace guided my heart even till this moment as I write. It was painful, it was hard, I was anxious, but I was grateful it happened.

Stay blessed always and remember to love someone and mean it.
