ROMANS 1:18-21
“THE WRATH OF GOD IS BEING REVEALED FROM HEAVEN AGAINST ALL GODLESSNESS AND WICKEDNESS……FOR ALTHOUGH THEY KNEW GOD,THEY NEITHER GLORIFIED HIM AS GOD NOR GAVE THANKS TO HIM, BUT THEIR THINKING BECAME FUTILE AND THEIR FOOLISH HEARTS WERE DARKENED”( NIV)
It was a glorious moment in church yesterday. “HEART OF GRATITUDE” 2019 DUBBED “MAG19” as in magnification 2019. Many people poured out their hearts in worship, praise, thanksgiving, dancing and magnifying the Lord. I was blessed, I am very convinced you were too, if you were at Liberty House Christian Centre yesterday; “The Hall Of Liberty”.
I was greatly challenged by the word of God, concerning the consequences of being UNGRATEFUL. I came to a firm conclusion that, the root cause of man’s ungratefulness and ingratitude are further pushing Christians into “decadence and depravity”, as a result of “our attitude of ingratitude”. Many believers in recent times have refused to ” Glorify God, and also refused to thank Him or show gratitude”. It was ingratitude that led Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, that plunged mankind into physical death and destruction. Satan told them; “God is not good to you”. It was ingratitude that made the Israelites wander in the wilderness, not to mention the punishments and some of the consequences that came their way. God had given them land, manner, drink and even promised more, yet they didn’t think God was doing enough, they wanted more. “Discontent and dissatisfaction are enemies of gratitude”. Many Christians today want huge things such as mansions, cars, good marriages, more children before they can express gratitude to God. Those things are good. They are part of our inheritance in Christ Jesus. But without those things, you have forgotten the gift of life not to talk of the gift of eternal life. One of the reasons we see vileness on display in the church today is as a result of the ingratitude Christians display in the church, and especially on the pulpit.
It is devastating to see God’s children waxing worse and worst into the darkness of complaining, grumbling, murmuring, cynical, bitter, unforgiving, envious and jealous. Such things are the consequences of ungrateful hearts and ingratitude attitudes.
