Just in: Gov’t institutes commission of inquiry into Ayawaso West disturbances, Emile Short is the chairperson

The Vice president, acting on the consent of the president has instituted a commission of inquiry to look into the disturbances that took place at the La Bawaleshie Park in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency during the by-election on January 31, 2019.

The commission is chaired by former Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) Justice Emile Short.

The other Members include Mrs. Henrietta Mensah Bonsu, Mr. Patrick Kwarteng Acheampong, a former Inspector General of Police and Mr. Ernest Kofi Abotsi, former dean of the Law Faculty of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), as the secretary.
