Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) strongman Dela Coffie has described the party’s presidential candidate aspirant and former president, John Dramami Mahama as a latter day saint who joined the party after others had toiled to build it.

‘’John Mahama joined the NDC after Goosie Tanoh and others toiled to build the party from the scratch, and so if you’re still in doubt, go ahead and challenge Goosie’s membership of the NDC, and I promise you that the NDC won’t be able to finish the nomination process, let alone field a candidate for the 2020 elections’’ he pointed out.

According to the fierce critic of the former president, Mr. Mahama is solely responsible for the party’s defeat in the 2016 elections and must be rejected at all cost as the party’s presidential candidate going into the 2020 elections.

‘’Available data from the Electoral Commission shows the NDC has over the last two general elections performed below average. 50.7% in 2012 and 44.4% in 2016, with almost one million vote deficit’’ he wrote on his Facebook wall.

He continued ‘’we cannot defend this abysmal showing going forward, and we need a new proposition to prevent another disaster in 2020. Do not defend 44.4%, let’s give the NDC chance to be great again’’,

He is charging those who are touting the former president as the best candidate to lead the NDC into the 2020 election to have rethink, as he will lead the party into a big disaster if he is elected flagbearer.
