General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu has taken a dig at his counterpart in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia, saying he has no locus or moral right to question the credibility of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensah.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia while speaking on the Representation of the People’s Amendment Law (ROPAL) on Accra based okay Fm yesterday Friday December 21, 2018, accused the chairperson of the electoral commission of not playing fair with political parties in the opposition, saying she has a credibility deficit.
But Mr. Boadu believes the NDC Chief Scribe has no credibility left on him as he has discredited himself in the eyes of well-meaning Ghanaians over the years.
‘’If anybody has a deficit in credibility, it is Asiedu Nketia. I will not take you far. Just recently he went and lied to his party’s National Executive Committee that the NPP took 500 thousand Ghana cedis as filing fee for presidential candidates based on which false information his party pegged their presidential filing fee at 400 thousand. That was a very big lie and that is just one of the many lies he has told. He should shut up and stop trying to draw attention to himself’’ he added.
He further stated that the NPP in the past was able to cultivate a good working relationship with Dr. Kwadjo Afari Djan and Mrs. Charlotte Osei in the past, adding that the NDC must learn to work with the Chairperson and commissioners of the electoral commission, and stop the unnecessary alarms they raise on every single move by the commission.
