Economic Management Team postpones implementation of UNIPASS to August 2019

The Economic Management Team (EMT) has ordered the suspension of the implementation of UNIPASS at the ports until August 2019.

The implementation was due to begin on January 1 2019.

This is to ensure a smooth transition from the current implementers of the single window programme, the Ghana Community Network Services (GCNet) and WestBlue Consulting to Cupia of Korea Customs Service and Ghana Link Network Services Limited.

A report on transition arrangements signed by Professor Joe Amoako-Tuffuor, Secretary and Member of the EMT Stated that the Attorney General has been asked to advice government on the implications of terminating the contract of GCNet which is supposed to run out in 2023.
