UER: Garu police arrest Man who attempted to bribe police commander to free suspects

The Garu District Police Command have arrested a Man who attempted to bribe the District Police Commander in order to influence him to to release some suspects who are in custody for stealing.

The suspect, Kofi Awuni according information available to BestNewsGH.com, went to the District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Daniel Yaro and offered him cash in the sum of GHc 6,540.00.

The amount, BestNewsGH.com can report, was to facilitate the release of two notorious motor bike thieves in the area, Amandu Yakubu and Hudu Mohammed who are being investigated for stealing and dishonestly receiving.

BestNewsGH.com can confirm that when suspect Kofi Awuni gave the cash to the Police Commander in his office, he categorically stated that the case against the two motor bike thieves should be dropped.

He was immediately arrested and placed in custody together with the earlier suspects, while the cash has been retained as as exhibit in the investigations.
