American comedian, television host, producer, radio personality, actor, and author Steve Harvey who is currently in Ghana with his family as part of the Year of Return guests, emotionally broke down after visiting the Cape Coast Castle.

Mr. Harvey who could not contain the situation was seen literally shedding tears with his head bowed after tour guides conducted him and his family round the various units of the Castle, particularly the dungeons.

“This was real pain I felt going back to Ghana’s slave castles…I could feel my ancestors on me… Powerful beyond words that I can explain. I encourage as many of you as possible to go HOME for your ancestors,” Harvey said in a post on Instagram.

These are Dungeons where the ancestors were kept for 2 to 3 months before shipments to be turned into slaves.

Just a tiny hole was opened and that was their source of light and air.
