An angry Zimbabwean woman who could not fathom why her husband failed to pick her up from church decided to teach him a ‘lesson’ and that was to pour hot water on him.

Alice Chigwida according to BestNewsGH.com sources got more infuriated when the husband Davies Chitagu arrived home late even after failing to pick her up from the St Mary’s Cathedral.

The source said after arriving home at 10 pm, an argument ensued between husband and wife over Mr. Chitagu’s failure to pick her up from church.

After he retired to bed, the wife waited until he was fast asleep before emptying a full bucket of boiling water on him, culminating in very severe burns.

Pleas by the husband while she was in act fell on deaf ears, the source added.

A family member said:

“When she feared that he would die on their matrimonial bed, she helped him into their car and went to dump him at a hospital for surgery in the city before telling his relatives that he was in hospital’’

Bulawayo police spokesman Inspector Abednico Ncube who confirmed the story explained that an investigation has been launched into matter already.

“I can confirm that we are dealing with a case of domestic violence where a woman scalded her husband with boiling water following a domestic dispute. Further investigations into the matter are underway,” said inspector ncube.
