The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has in a message wishing Ghanaians and the Muslim community in particular a Happy Eid ul Adha admonished all to extend a helping hand to the poor and needy in society.
A statement signed by the Party’s General Secretary, James Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr. read in part that ‘’ Especially at these difficult times which Government admits to be the case we pray that every Ghanaian shall imbibe the spirit of giving. May we learn to share what we have with others particularly, the poor and those in need. Eid ul-Adha Mubarak! It is not the meat nor the blood that reaches Allah but the piety and sincerity of hearts’’.
It added that ‘’On this occasion of sacrifices, taking a cue from the greatest sacrifice made by the prophet Ibrahim to signify obedience and gratitude in very difficult circumstances, the CPP invites Ghanaians to share in that spirit to be thankful to God at all times’’.
