Controversial Private legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw has indicated that he is consulting parliament on a consent form he is designing to help curtail disagreements that arise between men and women with regards to having intimacy.

The move according to him has been necessitated because of the high spate of rape accusations being leveled against men in the country, the latest being the one against the president of the Ghana Bar Association, Anthony Forson Jnr.

Kuukuwa Andam, a Ghanaian lawyer based in North America who is quite accomplished in her field accused the GBA president of rape a few days ago.

She alleges that Anthony Forson Jr. raped her in a Washington D.C hotel in 2012. According to Kuukuwa, she went to meet Forson ready to have s*x with him for cash but decided against it when she realized he did not have a condom. However, he still went ahead and forcibly raped her despite her protestations.

But speaking to the issue on an Accra based radio station Monday January 21, 2019, Mr. Ampaw said the concept of the consent for would help deal with all such issues.

‘’I have worked on the consent form and I am meeting parliament to impress upon them for a review of the law. The sexual offences Act. I want them to make provisions for the consent form so that it will be enforceable in Ghana’’ he said.

According him, the consent for will contain the names of the man and woman involved, their ages, the agreement that they will have intimacy, the location and time and the number of rounds they intend to go among others.

This consent form he opined would be signed by the two persons involved before the act begins, in order that none of them would turn around and accuse the other of violating him or her.
