PHOTOS: Kofi Annan arrives home to a 3 day funeral service

The mortal remains of Mr. Kofi Annan arrived in the country today for a 3 day funeral service arranged by the state for the former Secretary General of the United Nations who passed on in Sweden some three weeks ago.

The 7th United Nation’s Secretary General’s remains received a brief ceremony at the Kotoka International Airport in the presence of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice president Mahamudu Bawumia before it was moved to the Accra international conference centre where the body will be laid in state tomorrow 11 September 2018.

On Wednesday September 12, 2018, dignitaries will file past the body to pay their last respects and that will be followed by a burial service on Thursday September 13 at the conference centre before it is finally interred at the Military Cemetery.

His wife Nane and their three children accompanied the body.
