The pictures beneath are the pictorial evidence of the construction of 84 kilometer railway line from Tema to Akosombo.
The project which is expected to cost 388 million dollars, forms part of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led government’s plan to redevelop the railways system in Ghana.
The project is to be funded with an Exim Bank loan.
Currently, Ghana as a country has 947 kilometers of rail with only a third of which is functional. That, indeed doesn’t speak well of a country that wants to develop and create opportunities.
This birthed the idea of setting the Railways Ministry to focus on the development of the railway sector.
