The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana has revealed that 235 of the 250 candidates who sat for the 2019 online licensing examination earlier this year passed.
This number represents 94% of candidates who sat for the January examination.
Of the 250 candidates from the various post basic nursing training schools who sat for the online licensing examination, 68 sat for Critical Care Nursing, 59 sat for Ophthalmic Nursing, 75 for Peri-Operative Nursing while 48 sat for Public Health Nursing.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana (N&MC) announced that the results, as approved by the 14th Governing Board, are now available to candidates on the council’s online portal.
The N&MC is, therefore, directing all candidates who sat for the exam to visit the regional offices of the council from today to obtain a scratch card in order to access their results online. The cards are being sold for GH₵10.
Registrar for the council, Mr Felix Nyante disclosed that for the first time in the history of the council, it has developed an online results-checking system which will enable candidates to check their results via the council’s online portal.
He noted that checking results online was part of the online licensing examination project, NICHE 261, which was initiated in 2016.
The council, together with a consortium composed of CINOP Global and Advisory Services and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, initiated the NICHE 261 project to strengthen the capacity of the council to conduct credible examination through the use of advanced ICT solutions.
NUFFIC, through the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, provided financial support for the project.
