MTN welcomes ‘Christmas Babies’ with 250 hampers

Mobile Telecommunications giant, MTN is distributing some 250 hampers to mothers and their children born within the Christmas period across the country.

The annual ritual which was instituted in 2011 starting with the Korlebu Teaching Hospital in the Greater Accra Region was expanded to cover Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, Takoradi in the Western Region and Tamale in the Northern Region in 2012.

BestNewsGH.com is informed the expansion of the donation to cover other regions came after the first one generated a lot of media hype.

The Acting Regional Senior Manager for MTN in charge of South West, Mr. David Woasey made these disclosures As part of the Foundation’s end of year activities during which employees and volunteers distributed baby hampers to babies born during the Christmas season at the Effia Nkwanta Government Hospital as well as the Essikado Hospital.

‘’From 2018 the Upper East, Upper West & Eastern Region were included and a total of 200 hampers were distributed across 7 regions. In 2019, all 10 “traditional” regions will be included with a total of 250 hampers being distributed. Our objectives among others is to welcome the babies to the Yello family and to make their life’s brighter. Let me use this opportunity to thank all MTN customers have been very faithful with brand for all these years.’’ Mr. Woadey revealed.

The Omanhene of the Esikado Traditional Area, Nana Kwabena Nketia joined officials of MTN to make the donation to the mothers and the newly  born babies.
