MTN launches 2019 edition of Y’ello Care Challenge

Mobile Telecommunications giant, MTN has launched the 2019 edition of the Y’ello Care Challenge at Sekondi in the Western Region.

‘’For our friends who are hearing about Yello Care for the first time, MTN’s 21 Days of Y’ello Care is an annual staff volunteering programme that runs across the MTN Group from 1st to 21st June. It was instituted 12 years ago and has grown to become one of the key and exciting activities on the MTN calendar’’ said Mr. Prince Owusu Nyarko, Regional Senior Manager in charge of South-West Business District.

The theme for this year’s edition of the challenge is is “Creating a Brighter Future for our Youth.”

Explaining why the youth has been made the centre of the challenge for this year, Mr. Owusu Nyarko opined that ‘’The Youth are the greatest assets that any nation has. Not only are they regarded as the future leaders, they are actually the greatest investment for a country’s development and this can only happen if the youth are adequately empowered as agents of development’’.

Mr. Owusu Nyarko further noted that ‘’ We will be training a thousand youth across the country in various skills acquisition project including Computer programming, bead making and leather works among others.  To help them set up and sustain their trade, they will also be trained in Digital Marketing, Financial Management, Project Management and Customer Service Management. This will be our main campaign and it will be carried out in partnership with the iCODE GH’’.

‘’Aside brightening our communities through our projects and winning the ultimate prize, participating in 21 Days of Y’ello Care will bring us a lot of fulfilment. We will inspire the youth, give them hope and most importantly we will make a positive impact them’’ he added.

He also thanked customers of the company for keeping faith with them and for supporting them over the years.
