Painstaking investigations by BestNewsGH.com at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the Ashanti Regional Capital, Kumasi, reveal a sorry state of the facility with indications that it is gradually grinding to a halt.

BestNewsGH.com’s Managing Editor, Kennedy Mornah who is currently in Kumasi to investigate the rot at Ghana’s second biggest hospital, reports that out of 11 laundry machines at the facility, 10 of them are grounded, leaving the entire hospital with just one laundry machine to serve thousands of patients.

He uncovered that the entire hospital has no CT Scan machine as the one they own has also broken down.

Kennedy Mornah also reports from Kumasi that a medical Doctor at KATH who owns Spectra clinic in Kumasi refers patients who require CT scan services to his facility and that his colleague doctors who refer patients to the private clinic, receives commission for their referrals.

The said medical doctor who owns Spectra clinic also has an ambulance on standby at the entrance of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, in readiness to transport referred patients.

Another serious issue that has plagued the hospital is the lack of drugs at the 11 pharmacy shops, as they have all depleted stocks and indications are that the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Oheneba Owusu-Danso seems unconcerned about the sorry state of affairs at the facility.

BestNewsGH.com sources at the hospital told Kennedy Mornah that the chief executive officer instead of releasing money to restock the 11 pharmacies has rather chosen to construct a brand new pharmacy block at the facility.

This website will bring readers details of very corrupt practices by the Chief Executive Officer with regards to the award of contracts to friends and family in subsequent publications.
