A Nigerian Police officer who was captured by kidnappers in the Rivers State is counting his blessings and thanking his rescuers who happen to be a local vigilante group.

The policeman, along with other victims were rescued by ONELGA Security, Planning and Advisory Committee (OSPAC) in Rivers State who also arrested a young suspect in the process after his charms failed him.

According to reports, the police officer and the other victims were rescued after the security agents engaged the criminal gang in a battle.

Reports suggest there was a fierce battle between the vigilante group and the criminal gang before the eventual rescue of the victims.

In pictures that has since gone viral, the police man is seen clinching onto the leader of the vigilante group in what can easily pass for a ‘thank you’ or ‘I am grateful’ message.
