Liberty Breakfast with Luke Barson (Rev) Do You Have A Legacy?

2 TIMOTHY 2:2

“AND THE THINGS YOU HAVE HEARD ME SAY IN THE PRESENCE OF MANY WITNESSES, ENTRUST TO RELIABLE PEOPLE WHO WILL ALSO BE QUALIFIED TO TEACH OTHERS”

Everybody will be remembered for one thing or the other. Whilst others will be remembered for their good works, some will be remembered for the problems they created.

The legacy you leave behind is the life you lead. Your attitude, presence, words, actions and inactions, that will leave a pleasant fragrance or putrid stench.

Many think, building houses, creating wealth and leaving behind good money after they are dead and gone is a great legacy. Whilst this may be true in a sense, God wants His children to be able to glorify Him more than just leaving behind inheritance for their children.

“Father the hour has come; Glorify your son, that your son may glorify you”. (John 17:1)

Essentially, it means “I have brought you glory by completing the work you gave me to do”. The legacy of our Lord’s obedience was the men he left behind through the life He led, and that was a legacy of glory. Now that’s a legacy worth living for. I have seen many leaders, businessmen and women die, and their memory is gone. They never impacted anybody, and never imparted their followers, subordinates or children.

Jesus is still revealing the father to those whom the father has given Him through us, after many years of His death and resurrection, and we can leave a legacy of glory as we influence others to live for Him, through us. A legacy of peace, joy, humility, courage, selflessness and honesty.

(To be cont)

Stay blessed always and remember to love someone and mean it.
