Liberty Breakfast: Commitment-(People who won’t submit to Authority)

ROMANS 12:3

In my over twenty ( 20) years in ministry, I have encountered all kinds of people. From the pulpit to the university, lecturers to students, congregation to preachers, office staff to the ordinary man or woman in the street. One thing stands clear; “you will always meet difficult people”; and they come in different shapes and forms. “The lady who wouldn’t follow protocol to her seat or parking lot is the easiest of all”.

There are people who are very difficult, whose characters are hidden and not seen, yet very difficult. They will never commit or submit to anyone. They have hidden egos that can not be seen. “They feel they are entitled to everything”. There are people in the church who will never commit or submit to authority because “they are change resistant”. The change resistor has difficulty with anything in the church that is not “business as usual”. Their characters and attitudes range from feet-dragging to petty complaints, to sabotage, to blackmail, to outright rebellion. Such people always want to be in charge, and in control of events in the church or work place. Any change that threatens their positions is an enemy and they will fight it with the last drop of their blood.

It seems that, uncertainty and perceived loss of control is overwhelming for them.

To such people, everything should be about their happiness, and not the organisation or leadership.

To be cont…

Stay blessed always and remember to love someone and mean it.
