2 CORINTHIANS 13:5
“TEST YOURSELVES TO SEE IF YOU ARE IN THE FAITH; EXAMINE YOURSELVES! DO YOU NOT RECOGNISE THIS ABOUT YOURSELVES, THAT JESUS CHRIST IS IN YOU UNLESS INDEED YOU FALL THE TEST”?
Dear reader, have you ever sat down to ask yourself as a Christian; if you are in Christ with your heart and mind in the world and your feet in the church? Or you are the kind of believer that seeks to do the Will of God according to the scriptures? There are three(3) categories of Christians;
NATURAL MAN:( The person who has not yet received Christ) Such people live a self-centred life. Their interests are directed by self centred life, resulting in discord and frustration. Such people place Christ out of their lives and every activity.
“A natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised”. (1Corinthians 2:14)
THE SPIRITUAL MAN; (A person who is directed and empowered by the Holy Spirit). Such people are Christ Centred. Their interests are directed by Christ, resulting in peace, love and harmony. God takes the centre stage in their everyday plans.
“He who is spiritual appraises all things..we have the mind of Christ “. (1Corinthians 2:15)
CARNAL MAN: ( The one who has received Christ, but who lives in defeat. Who still harbours pain, unforgiviness, hurt and still lives in the past. Trying to live the Christian life in his own strength)
“And I brethren, could not speak to you as spiritual men,but as carnal men, as to babes in Christ. I gave you milk to drink, not as solid food; for you are still carnal, For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshy, and are you not walking like mere men? ( 1Corinthians 3:1-3)
Which of the above do you belong? The scripture says “examine yourself to see if you are in the faith”? What are your actual motives in the church? Examine your beliefs and actions and compare them to the scriptures to see what kind of Christian you really are? Are you submitting your life to Christ or self?
Many people take it for granted that, they go to church everyday or are born into a Christian family, or is a good person, sincere in his or heart and that makes them followers of Christ. Examine your faith…
