JOHN 20:26-29

Doubt, fear and discouragement are triplets. Wherever doubt is, you will most certainly find “fear and discouragement”. The most repeated phrase in the Bible is; “FEAR NOT”.

You can not battle anything in life unless you know the source; and to overcome anything, you must confront it. Most people doubt because, their eyes are fixed on physical issues. “Lord if it’s you”, Peter replied, tell me to come to you on the water”. “Come”, he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, WALKED on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind ( the storms of life, marital pressures, financial difficulties, rent, childlessness: emphasis mine.) he became afraid, and beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me”. ( Matthew 14:22-33)

Peter didn’t sink because Jesus wasn’t there, he sunk because he moved from the spiritual to the physical, from faith to doubt, from courage to fear. Doubt will always keep us stuck. To doubt is ultimately to NOT trust God. The devil always seeks to draw people into doubt and fear. To have faith is to receive God’s promises; to doubt or fear will always draw people away from His blessings.

“We saw the Nephilim there ( the descendants of Anak). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes…( Numbers 13:33)

Many people miss God’s best because of doubt. They say; “I can’t do this”. “This is not possible”. No one has ever achieved anything great with doubt. One thing I know is that, the enemy commonly draws people into doubt and fear. The other thing I also know is that, doubt leads to discouragement, and discouragement leads to depression. The devil knows that, a doubtful and fearful person who is depressed is not effective in prayer. Doubt will always keep you rooted in the wrong focus. Like Peter walking on the water. Once he doubted, his focus shifted and he began to sink. Many believers are quick to condemn Peter, but are probably worst. Their doubts have kept them in the wrong focus and they are sinking without even realising it. You need a new sense of purpose and direction. You have doubted God, yourself and everybody around. You need to overcome your doubts by receiving a new revelation. Begin to trust your God and start believing in yourself and others. “Cast not away thy confidence”…(Hebrews 10:35-37)

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent, or praiseworthy-think about such things”.( Philippians 4:8

Think about noble things, and things that will keep your mind on the way to success and great achievements. Even if people doubt you and your God, believe yourself and your God.
