LUKE 17:14-18

“WHEN HE ( JESUS) SAW THEM ( THE LEPERS), HE SAID TO THEM; GO, SHOW YOURSELVES TO THE PRIESTS. AS THEY WENT, THEY WERE CLEANSED…”

JESUS SAID ( TO THE ONE WHO RETURNED), “WERE NOT ALL TEN CLEANSED? WHERE ARE THE NINE? HAS NO ONE RETURNED TO GIVE PRAISE TO GOD IN A LOUD VOICE”?…

Gratitude is a virtue most worthy of our cultivation as believers. As a matter of fact , in all our Christian life, “gratitude is to be planted, watered, dressed and harvested”. “Gratitude is the heart of the Christian life”.

Every genuine Christian must express a feeling of happiness that comes with appreciation for kindness shown; whether those things are in the form of spiritual, material or physical blessings. A true believer who has a genuine relationship with Christ should be transformed into; a joyful, positive and grateful person. One of the surest signs, that Christ is living in your HEART is GRATITUDE. A senior minister once said to me: “God lives in two places; in heaven and in a humble grateful heart”.

Unfortunately however, many Christians, for various reasons, like the ten (10) lepers are very ungrateful. Our ingratitude knows no boundary.

“It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night”.( Psalm 92:1-2) DAY AND NIGHT; EMPHASIS..

Our lives must be filled with the spirit of gratitude, thankfulness and appreciation. Many believers, as a result of their affluence,( WEALTH) forget to express gratitude to the Lord. Paul actually told Timothy to warn the rich guys in the church not to lift their shoulders above God and the people around them.

“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant (proud, ungrateful, haughty.. emphasis mine) nor put their hope in wealth, which is uncertain,…(1 Timothy 6:17).

“Often, the by-product of having so much is a desire for more. And it is very hard to be grateful and express gratitude when you cannot learn to be happy with what you already have”. NOTE; it is not a bad to thing to be rich . But to be rich as a believer and not show gratitude to God is ARROGANCE. “Silent gratitude is still ingratitude”. You hear some believers make statements such as; “I have worked hard for this”, “I needed to be smart, else I would have lost this opportunity”. Where is the God factor in your life?

“You may say to yourself; My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me”. “But remember the Lord your God for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth…” ( Deuteronomy 8:17-18).

Each of us, compared to the rest of the world, are rich in our own right. Show gratitude, and be grateful for what God is doing in your life. Ingratitude is the biggest barrier between you and your next opportunity.

To be cont..

Stay blessed always and remember to love someone and mean it.
