Lapaz intersection road safety enhancements begin 17th September

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly has set aside Monday September 17 2018 for the commencement of the road safety enhancement works at the Lapaz intersection.

A statement issued by the Assembly and under the hand of the head of public affairs Gilbert Nii Ankrah said the project is expected to be completed within 68 days.

The statement said the decision to embark on the project followed safety inspections carried out by the AMA and the Bloomberg Initiative for Global Safety (BIGRS) on the highway as part of efforts to enhance pedestrian safety and improve the safety of other road users.

Dated 11th September 2018, the statement further urged all road users commuting through the Lapaz intersection on the N1 and its immediate surroundings to bear with the Authorities for any inconveniences the exercise may cause.
