Just in: NEDCo demands 40 percent tariff increase, makes 230 million cedis loss in 2018, says its headed for a crisis

Information available to BestNewsGH.com indicates that the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) is demanding a 40 percent increase in electricity tariffs in order to enable it sustain its operations.

According to the company, anything short of approving or granting the request will see the company collapse within the shortest time possible.

A source within the top echelons of the company told this Website that the company recorded a colossal loss of 230 million Ghana Cedis last year and that it has had a very significant negative toll on its operations.

The source added that the company is heading for a crisis situation and the earlier government comes to its aid by sanctioning the tariff increase, the better it will be for the company and its operations.
