National Youth Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye has described opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate hopeful and former president John Dramani Mahama as a very greedy and desperate person who will stop at nothing to become president of the country again.

Nana B as the NPP National Youth Organiser is popularly called says the former president who has held almost all positions in the political space including Member of Parliament, Deputy Minister, Minister, Vice President and President in the country, haven seen it all, should have been enjoying his retirement now.

The NPP youth leader who was commenting on the 400 thousand Ghana Cedis presidential filing fees for NDC presidential candidate hopefuls said the plot was to eliminate other contenders of the race in favour of the former president.

‘’John Mahama once described the candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as an old man who was spent and had nothing to offer the country. Just yesterday he celebrated his 60th birthday and that means he has attained the mandatory retirement age. So why won’t he go and rest and is bent on becoming president again? It shows you how greedy and desperate he is’’ he said on an Accra based radio station.

He also condemned the NDC and its leadership for the decision which has turned out to be very unpopular even within its own ranks.

Various stakeholders in the party’s presidential candidate election have voiced their disagreement over the high filing fees including Stephen Atugiba and Nii Amasah Namoale who is in the camp of Professor Joshua Alabi, one of the 13 NDC presidential candidate hopefuls.

They both described the move as outrageous and called for a review.
