Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen has indicated in the strongest terms yet that opposition National Democratic Congress presidential candidate hopeful and former president, John Dramani Mahama can never be president of the country again.
‘’Mahama is not going to be the leader of this country again. Mahama cannot be the leader of this country again. Mahama will never be the leader of this country again, I am telling you. Nana Obiri Boahen who was commenting on the decision by the NDC to peg the party’s presidential filing fees at a whopping 400 thousand Ghana cedis, lampooned the NDC for the decision and said it is because of the former president the party took such an unpopular decision.
In his estimation, the party erred in that decision and has set a bad precedent which does not augur well for the country’s democracy.
‘’A lot of Ghanaian politicians learn history, but they don’t learn from the lessons of history. A lot of African politicians learn history, but they don’t learn from the lessons of history and if you don’t learn from the lessons of history you are bound to repeat or make the mistakes of history’’ he said.
