A distressed customer of troubled gold trading firm, Menzgold Ghana has narrated how he sold his parents’ two houses and some plots of land and raised 850 thousand Ghana Cedis to invest with Menzgold.

According to him, he sold the houses for 600 thousand Ghana cedis and sold the plots of land which also fetched him some 250 thousand Ghana cedis, totaling 850 thousand.

According to him, he also paid a hedging fee of 52 thousand Ghana cedis, adding that he started to invest with the company in July this year.

The customer who joined his colleagues on Accra based Asempa Fm to narrate their ordeal said even though he has since terminated his contract with the company, they have failed to pay him the initial 15 percent of his investment they promised to pay to him.

‘’I sold my mothers’ house, that of my father in Tema, and those fetched me 600 thousand Ghana cedis. I then sold some plots of land and added that to some small money I had. And so it totaled 850 thousand Ghana cedis. What is even painful is that I had to pay the hedging fee of 52 thousand Ghana cedis without which they wouldn’t have allowed me to trade’’ he said.

He continued ‘’on the 1st of August 2018, I got my first profit of 96 thousand Ghana cedis and I was supposed to get 10 percent on the amount every month and that will amount to 80 thousand Ghana cedis and so I have received payment for just one month’’.
