Head of Communications at the Ghana Gas Company, Ernerst Owusu Bempah has rubbished a story circulating in the media and alleging that he said people who are complaining about economic hardship in the country are thieves.

According to the vociferous political activist, he was completely taken out of context and misrepresented.

Mr. Owusu Bempah denied making reference to the generality of the Ghanaian people, explaining that he chose his words carefully and made specific reference to the opposition National Democratic congress (NDC).

He told BestNewsGH.com in an interview ‘’I have been taken out of context completely and I know it is deliberate. What I said was that it is only the thieves in NDC who are complaining about hardship in the country. Those were my exact words’’ he said.

Mr. Owusu Bempah in a video which has since gone viral on social media is seen touting the effectiveness and achievements of the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, alluding to the fact that the government is really delivering.

In his estimation, the government has been able to seal all the loopholes that officials of the erstwhile John Mahama administration used in looting state resources, culminating in their inability to steal anymore.

According to him, that is the reason why the folks in the NDC are hell bent on making the Akufo-Addo led government unpopular by playing the economic hardship card, a trick he said would not work.

He is therefore appealing to the generality of the Ghanaian people to disregard the propaganda and mischief that has been put in the public domain to create disaffection for him and the government saying ‘’ I know the Ghanaian people are discerning and intelligent people. They will not easily fall for some of these shenanigans and mischievous propaganda. They know me very well and they know I will never look down on them or even betray them.
