I attended GMA 135k end of year party, 500 people attended-Kennedy Agyapong confesses

Loudmouth New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency in the Central Region, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has confessed that he attended the controversial 135 thousand Ghana Cedi end of year party for staff of the Ghana Maritime Authority.

According to him, some 500 guests attended the party which has become a subject of public discourse mainly from the high cost of the event and particularly because it was hosted at the Director General’s private hotel.

According to Mr. Agyapong, staff of the Authority were excited about the event as it was used to reward and recognize deserving staff for their hard work and long Service to the Authority.

“I attended that party and it was a very nice event. The workers were very happy because that was the first time in which such an event was held at the Authority and to motivate staff. The staff alone numbers about 200 and they came with their spouses, plus other guests. So I can say we were about 500 in number.” he said.

The politician cum businessman wants the Ghana Maritime Authority boss to be commended for returning the entity back onto the path of profitability, adding that he has brought the organization from zilch to a vibrant and profitable state agency which will be paying some 8 Million Ghana cedis dividend to government at the end of the year.
