This is the sad history and meaning of Black Friday.

It was during the slave trade in America. During Black Friday, slaves were sold at a discount to boost the economy.

Hence Black (slaves were of African origin) Friday (the date of the sale on that Friday in November).

It raises questions of whether as Africans we should be supportive of this insult.
