The Coalition for the reformation of legal education in Ghana has filed a suit at an Accra High Court seeking an injunction on law school entrance examination.
The group in statement said it is calling on the General Legal Council to withdraw an advertisement it placed in the June 4 edition of the Daily Graphic, calling for applications to be submitted by interested persons for the exams.
The suit, according to the group which is an application for Judicial Review by way of Prohibition, is seeking three reliefs including:
An order of Prohibition directed at the Respondents to withdraw the advertisement placed at page 30 of the Daily Graphic of June 4, 2019, and to make the contents of the said advertisement consistent with articles 23 and 296 (a) and (b) and the Legal Profession (Professional and Post-Call Law Course) Regulations, 2018 (L.I.2355).
An order of Prohibition directed at the Respondents to withdraw the advertisement placed at page 30 of the Daily Graphic of June 4, 2019, and make the contents of the said advertisement consistent with articles 17 of the 1992 Constitution and
An order of Prohibition to directed at the Respondents to withdraw the advertisement placed at page 30 of the Daily Graphic of June 4, 2019, and make the contents of the said advertisement consistent with article 15 of the 1992 Constitution.
