Four Ghanaian Policemen under investigation for stealing €7,000 from Italian couple

The Ghana Police Service is investigating four of its men for allegedly stealing some €7,000 from an Italian Couple.

Daniele Migfiorisi and Ferien Oklomode BestNewsGH.com is informed, accused the four men of stealing the amount during a random search on December 23, 2019 while they were driving to the Kotoka International Airport to fly to Italy.

The incident took place at Osu in Ghana’s capital City, Accra.

Cpl Amos Dery of Osu Motorbike patrols, Cpl Morgan Adjierah of RCID, Cpl John Alaldago of Bravo Rover Unit and Const. Lawson K.  Makafui of Mounted Squadron are the four accused persons.

Reports have it that the couple were stopped at Salvation Army in Osu for a search.

After the search, the police men instructed the driver of the couple to drive towards the Osu Police Station where an alcoholic test was to be conducted.

“After roaming with the couple in Osu township for a while, the police officers rescinded the decision to conduct the test and left them,” a police report revealed.

The report added that: “Soon thereafter, the couple detected that cash of 7000.00 Euros had been stolen from their bag placed at where No. 46165 G/L/Cpl Amos Dery sat.”

The police hierarchy in the Osu Command have indicated their resolve to fully investigate the matter.
