Authorities in Nigeria have arrested a man who posed as a medical doctor at the Kaduna State Hospital for 11 years.
Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai ordered investigations into the operations of the fake medical doctor, Saidu Ahmed Ya’u who was arrested after the investigations.
He has since been arraigned before the Magistrate Court in the State, charged with forgery of certificate and impersonation.
BestNewsGH.com can report that a statement signed by Kaduna State Attorney-General Aisha Dikko said a four-member committee was instituted by the Ministry of Health in investigate as well as verify the certificates and institutions the suspect claimed he had attended.
The committee according to BestNewsGH.com sources was also to verify the suspect’s registration with the Nigerian Dental and Medical Council.
It emerged after investigations that the certificates he submitted were all fake.
The statement read in part that ‘’Information gathered from Ahmadu Bello University(ABU) Zaria and MDCN also reveals that Saidu was neither admitted nor graduated from the university and was not registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.”
The suspect denied all the charges, arguing that they were all false.
This assertion was rebutted by the Director of Public Prosecutions, who opposed the suspect’s bail application, arguing that the allegations against him were substantial enough.
