The Convention People’s Party (CPP) is calling for a return to the progressive values and ideals of hope in the country as it commemorates the overthrow of Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

A statement issued by the CPP and under the hand of its General Secretary, James Kwabena Bonfeh Jnr. read in part that ‘’Until and unless there is an honest admission of responsibility, there is no hope. The CPP must lead the nation to return to the ideals and values of hope. The nation must be inspired with/to sincerity, transparency, hardwork, dedication, courage and humility of thought. Selfishness, hatred and bitterness must give way for selflessness, love and light.‘’

The statement which is in the possession BestNewsGH.com also added that ‘’It is February 24 – the day our nation sowed the seed of indiscipline with enemy approval. The forces of darkness struck while the nation slept. No matter how regretful or mournful February 24 may be, those acts of treachery could not have been possible without the tacit approval, support and participation of some insider elements who had feigned to be a part of the revolution.’’
