The former Medical Director of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Dr. Thomas Anabah has described as painful, the loss of several lives in the Tamale-Kintampo accident that took close to 70 lives with more than 30 of the victims confirmed by the police to have burnt beyond recognition.

Of particular concern to the Chief Executive Officer of Habana Medical Services are the victims from the Garu Constituency which has thrown the entire constituency into a state of mourning.

‘’It’s with a heavy heart that I write to express my deepest condolences to the families of the bereaved in the gory accident that painfully swept the lives of our cherished constituents of Garu. It was unbelievable when the news broke out of the huge numbers we lost last night in the accident that occurred at Amoma Nkwanta near Kintampo which has left the entire constituency and Ghana devastated’’ he wrote.

In a statement he issued yesterday, Friday, September 22, 2019, Dr. Anabah opined that it is imperative for authorities in the country to take a proper examination again of the traffic regulations to ensure the absolute safety of passengers and motorists.

‘’This unfortunate and heartbreaking news presents yet again, another need to examine our traffics regulations and to tailor them towards ensuring the maximum safety of passengers on board such mass transits. The people of Ghana are left devastated at one of Ghana’s horrific accidents that has claimed so many lives. This is a complete deplete of our national resources, a phenomenon we must guard against’’ the statement read in part.

He added that ‘’ I wish to express once again, my deepest condolences to our beloved brothers and sisters, families and all those who are bereaved as a result of this horrific and terrifying news. We pray the Good Lord to receive the souls of the departed in peace event as we mourn painfully of their untimely deaths’’.
