Double-Track and matters arising: we will fix challenges-Mireku Duker

New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency in the Western Region, George Mireku Duker has said government has done the best it can to make the Double-Track system implementation as smooth as possible.

Contributing to a discussion on Accra based Adom Television and monitored by BestNewsGH.com, Mr. Mireku Duker said the initial challenges being experienced with the implementation of the system are issues that will be addressed soon.

According to him, of infrastructure among others are being dealt with by the authorities, urging calm and restraint from anxious parents.

Government he indicated has taken steps to invest substantially in education infrastructure to allow for the accommodation of all the students at all levels.

“What is happening now are just initial challenges and the authorities are taking deliberate steps to get them addresse’’ he said.

Aspiring national communications officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi who was on the same program on his part said it was unprecedented in the history of the country for 67 thousand students to fail to get placement in schools.

He believes government must also invest in infrastructure adding that “if you fail to do that next year you will be implementing third track and the following year it will be quadruple track” he said.
