CR: Afenyo Markin rescues teachers in Effutu, launches 50, 000 cedi scholarship fund and donates 100 laptops to them

The Member of Parliament for Effutu constituency in the Central Region, Alex Afenyo Markin, has boosted the morale of teachers in the area by setting up a 50 thousand Ghana Cedi scholarship fund to assist them in their pursuit of higher education while in practice.

Mr. Afenyo Markin, also a renowned private legal practitioner said the scholarship program would take care of teachers who are members of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), adding that special arrangements can be made for other categories of teachers to access the fund.

He opined that the managers of the scholarship scheme will ensure transparency in the disbursement of funds to qualified persons who genuinely need to benefit from it.

The Effutu Member of Parliament at a separate event at the Ebenezer Methodist Cathedral Church at Winneba on Friday 12 October 2018 also donated one hundred (100) laptop computers to some teachers in the Effutu municipality.

The donation of the laptops he explained is aimed at enhancing teaching and learning in the area and to particularly help the teachers become more efficient and effective in the work.

The benevolent Effutu legislator while announcing his intention to construct a computer laboratory for the teachers, also acknowledged the difficult conditions under which the teachers work, and promised to help ameliorate their situation soon.

He added that three schools have been earmarked to benefit from another set of laptops that he will be donating very soon, explaining that his quest and desire is to see a very educated Effutuman in order to accelerate development in the area.

He implored the teachers to endeavor to give off their best as he makes frantic efforts to ease the pressure on them to enable them perform optimally.
