Two (2) members of Ghana’s Parliament and thirteen (13) parliamentary service staff have tested positive for COVID-19.
This came to light after the speaker of Parliament, Professor Michael Aaron Ocquaye encouraged members of the House and staff to voluntarily test for the virus.
The identities of the 2 MP’s have not been disclosed yet.

The Speaker according BestNewsGH.com sources has sanctioned a mandatory testing of all Members and staff of Parliament following the results, to ensure effective and efficient contact tracing, given the fact that the MP’s do interact a lot among themselves.
The Speaker has assured the results of the tests will be kept confidential.
Meanwhile the Ghana Health Service (GHS) in its latest update on COVID-19, has disclosed that Ghana’s case count now stands at 6,964 with 2,097 full recoveries.
The death toll still stands at 32.
