Vociferous and controversial Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antiw Boasiako has fingered the National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi of being the one who sold the leaked Ofosu Ampofo tape the ruling NPP.

According to him, Mr. Gyamfi is disgruntled and dissatisfied with some happenings in the NDC and therefore intends to expose his own party for some decisions that has been taken and which seems to want to tame and malign him.

‘’It is Sammy Gyamfi who came and leaked the tape to us. He leaked the tape to us because in their party the former president and now presidential candidate of the NDC, John Mahama did not support the current Chairman, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo in his chairmanship bid. He rooted for a different candidate and Ofosu Ampofo is also someone who likes talking a lot. The grand plot is to push Ofosu Ampofo out because John Mahama intends to make Julius Debrah his running mate in 2024 and Julius Debrah and Ofosu Ampofo are both from the Eastern Region. And so they have realized that both the National Chairman and running mate cannot be from the same region and that is why they have orchestrated to push Ofosu Ampofo out and Sammy Gyamfi is the henchman that has been mandated to do that’’ he said.

According to him, the NDC is taking a cue from the ruling NPP when it pushed out the then National Chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong and still won the 2016 elections.
