The District Chief Executive for Asutifi South in the Brong Ahafo Region, Robert Dwomoh Mensah has labeled the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for the area, Collins Dauda as a violent person who instigates the youth in the area into acts of violence and vandalism.

According to him, the MP in the presence of the Brong Ahafo Regional police Commander and the Asutifi Divisional Police commander incited his ‘macho men’ to beat up some New Patriotic Party supporters at a centre in Ahafo where the current limited voter registration exercise was ongoing.

According to him, the MP brazenly yelled and shouted at the top of his voice and threatened to deal with anyone who dared stand in his way.

He alleged that the MP uses one particular ‘macho man’ by name ‘Taller’ who is even feared by the police in the area and is able to perpetrate violent acts, wound people and allowed to go scot free, describing the situation as hopeless.

‘’Collins Dauda is a very seasoned and astute politician and even per his age, he is supposed to preach peace anytime the opportunity presents itself, but he rather does the opposite. Any opportunity he gets to speak at public functions including mosques and churches, he incites violence’’ he said.

Mr. Dwomoh Mensah alleged that the MP has caused a lot of havoc in the area, particularly to dozens of people who are perceived to be political opponents and called for a stop to such acts of lawlessness.

The DCE who was reacting to news of the invitation of the MP by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for some acts of violence at Sankore in the Ahafo area, said Mr. Collins Dauda cannot absolve himself from the chaos that took place in the area yesterday, September 24 2018, adding that there were several eye witnesses who saw the actions of the MP and how he unleashed his ‘macho men’ to beat up people in the full glare of the police top hierarchy in the region.
