Breaking News: Government allocates 180 million cedis to Office of Special Prosecutor

Government has announce the allocation of 180 million Ghana Cedis to the office of the special prosecutor.

Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Attah while delivering the 2019 budget and government economic policy statement in Parliament today, said government considers the office of the special prosecutor as a major priority in the fight against corruption.

He said  ‘’ in line with government’s promise to protect the public purse, His excellency the president remains committed to the fight against corruption. The Special Prosecutors Office which is established under the special prosecutors act 001 2017, Act 959 is one of the highest priorities of government. In this budget, the special prosecutor’s office has been allocated an amount of 180 million cedis from the Government of Ghana with a commitment to provide additional resources during the course of 2019 to enable the special prosecutor to carry out his mandate’’ he said.
