The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia today, Monday January 21, 2019, launched a book titled “Democracy Works: Rewiring Politics to Africa’s Advantage”, at the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD), Ghana in Accra.

The book is a sequel of the earlier work by the Johannesburg based Brenthurst Foundation titled, Making Africa Work, and is authored by Greg Mills, former Nigerian President H. E Olusegun Obasanjo, Jeffrey Herbst and Zimbabwean politician, Tendai Biti.

The foreward of the book was done by immediate past president of Liberia, H. E. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

‘Democracy Works’ explores the various forms of governance on the African continent, and makes a case for greater democracy and freedoms, supported with empirical evidence on the benefits of democracy on all aspects of daily life.

‘’I am confident that this book will be a worthy addition to the growing body of works championing the spread of democracy in Africa and the world’’ the vice president said at the launch.
